Anchoring JK inning, Ahmad Omar Banday slammed unbeaten double hundred against Himachal Pradesh on the third day of the ongoing four-day U-23 Col CK Naydu trophy match being played at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Cricket Stadium, Amtar.
This is for the first time that any player from J&K has hit double ton in any format of the domestic cricket.
Having being sidelined by JKCA selectors from Ranji trophy squad, talented opener was forced to play in Under-23 event. While JK Rannji trophy openers have been struggling, Banday has been piling on the runs for his Under-23 JK team.
Continuing his superb form, Banday who plays for Amateur Cricket Club remained unbeaten on Wednesday scoring 202 from 329 deliveries. The marathon knock included 28 boundaries and two sixes.
Muhammad Haziq Bhat was standing at other end having scored 39.
JK are still trailing by 161 runs in reply to HP’s first inning total of 469 all out.
